On 14 October, The Peninsula Shanghai will launch its inaugural “Mega Yoga” to celebrate the health benefits of yogic practices and raise funds for non-profit organization Raleigh China. Taking place on the beautiful lawn of No.1 Waitanyuan, “Mega Yoga” will offer a unique programme by health experts in partnership with lululemon, a leading Canadian high-end yoga-inspired athletic apparel company, Jack Morton, Indian Consulate, Yoopay, Life Fitness, Vcleanse and doTERRA
“Mega Yoga” intends to bring together participants from all walks of life in order to showcase the health benefits gained from the practice of yoga, ranging from general fitness to psychological well being. The Peninsula Shanghai seeks to promote the advantages of yogic practices to truly harness the therapeutic and wellness qualities of one of the world’s top ten complementary health approaches.
The Mega Yoga is comprised of two 60-minute yoga sessions from world-class international instructors. After receiving a complimentary yoga outfit by platinum sponsor lululemon, session one focuses on an innovative and energetic form of traditional yoga created by the mastermind behind Nino Mendes. A French native who discovered yoga in New York in 2004, Nino now seeks to unlock the unique, powerful and transformational true potential in others. Session two is led by traditional yoga advocate and experienced professor Bharath Basavaraju introduced by Indian Consulate, who guides participants in the principals of Indian Hatha yoga that includes posturing, meditation, breathing exercises and more. It is followed by a healthy green lunch at No.1 Waitanyuan curated by The Peninsula culinary team.
